There is no separate Step Up application. Instead the applicant identifies themselves as a potential Step Up candidate after making the standard Inside Wireman A Apprentice application. Carefully follow the instructions below:
How to Apply
- Complete an Inside Wireman A Apprenticeship application. Click the following link for access to the application and the instructions to complete it: https://www.jatc26.org/applications/inside-wireman-a-apprentice/
- After the above application is complete, email apply@jatc26.org with Step Up Interest in the subject line. Identify yourself with your full name and the last four of your social security number. In addition, inform us: 1) You have completed your Inside Wireman A Apprentice application and 2) You are a DC resident interested in the Step Up program.
- Continue to follow the instructions emailed to you regarding your Inside Wireman A Apprenticeship application (GAN personal experience form request and aptitude test scheduling) as you must be an active applicant to that program to proceed with the Step Up program.
- A list is maintained of people interested in the Step Up program and when contractors require DC residents on their jobs, we work with the people on that list to fill those positions. There is no set period of time to get from completing your application to beginning the program, it depends on the number of applicants and contractor job calls.
